Five Prem Rugby milestones you may have missed heading into Round 10

George Ford reaches 200 Prem appearances and approaches 2,000 points

Five Prem Rugby milestones you may have missed heading into Round 10

George Ford reaches 200 Prem appearances and approaches 2,000 points

The fly-half has been an English rugby stalwart since emerging in 2009 at Leicester Tigers as a 16-year-old who immediately looked incredibly mature and destined for the highest level.

A quiet person off the pitch, Ford is often referred to as being like another coach on the field, not afraid to direct traffic and bark orders to help his team. His trademark spiral bombs are aerial assaults on opposing defences, while his ability to play flat to the line and put his teammates through gaps with sublime passing is second to none.

One of the league’s most prolific goal kickers in his spells at Leicester, Bath Rugby and Sale Sharks, he is third in the all-time points scorers and needs just nine points on Saturday to join Andy Goode (2,285) and Charlie Hodgson (2,625) in the only players to have scored 2,000 points.

Elliot Daly joins the 200 club

Elliot Daly’s 200th Premiership appearance is the kind of milestone that tells you everything about the modern back: adaptable, durable, and capable of impacting matches in several different roles. His career try tally and points contribution underline how often he’s been involved in the decisive moments – whether as a finisher, a playmaker, or a long-range kicker.

In an era where backline roles constantly shift, Daly’s ability to remain relevant and effective across different systems is what makes two hundred games feel even bigger. It’s the mark of a player who has never stopped evolving.

Alex Lozowski hits 150 appearances – and an all-round points haul

The versatile back, who was Wasps from 2014-16 before two stints at Saracens with a spell at Montpellier sandwiched in between, has been an integral figure for the north Londoners during the hugely successful Mark McCall era. Whether he’s deployed at 10, 12, 13, wing or fullback, Lozowski possesses sharp shooting off the tee combined with immense creativity.

Despite England caps harshly going begging, Lozowski’s club form cannot be dismissed.

With Saracens hosting Newcastle in Round 10, their attack will lean heavily on that steady influence.

Cadan Murley and Will Stuart closing in on century landmarks

A century is a special club in English rugby – it speaks to consistency, selection, and the ability to stay fit and effective across seasons.

Murley has been one of the Prem’s most watchable finishers over the years, and reaching 100 would be a perfect reflection of his value for Harlequins. Bath front row Stuart’s impending century is equally significant: tightheads who rack up that many games are almost always pillars of their clubs.

Murray McCallum and Stephen Varney make it to half a century

It’s easy to focus only on the huge numbers, but 50 Premiership appearances is a major landmark – proof that a player has established themselves at this level and handled its physical and tactical demands.

Murray McCallum has reached that mark in the front row with Newcastle Red Bulls, where longevity is often bought through hard lessons in the unforgiving engine room. While, Exeter Chiefs nine Stephen Varney, formerly of Gloucester Rugby, has also brought up 50, doing it in one of the most unforgiving positions on the pitch at scrum-half.
