Running it from inside the 22. Offloading for fun. Forwards making breaks. England really switched up their mentality from previous rounds and put on a show for most of the game in Twickenham.
A first 30 minutes of back and forth as the teams exchanged tries togo 14-14 after 30 mins. A horrible looking injury to Ollie Lawrence after 8 minutes saw him replaced by Marcus Smith and Elliot Daly sliding into the midfield.
England went into the break 21-17 up after Garbisi sloted home a penalty before the whistle but would’ve been happy with the attacking style on display. Ange Capuozzo was finding space for the Italians and the partnership of Menoncello and Brex was proving it’s self once again as England didn’t have it all their own way.
Two early second half try’s from England within 7 mins put the game to bed as Marcus Smith received an offload from Ellis Genge and Tom Curry pushing over from close range taking the game to 35-17.
Another try in the corner for Ollie Sleightholme left England running home with 5 points but Italy’s bench found some success and led to a walk in for Menoncello. taking it to 42-22. One final flurry for England saw Ben Earl run in to finish the day as England give themself an outside chance to take the title next week.
England will take a lot out of this win with 3 from 3 at Twickenham and will face a Wales side looking to spoil the party. Ollie Lawrence and Fraser Dingwall both coming off with injuries slightly dampens the mood for the English but will be happy with 5 points.
